We want all of our customers to know just how much they mean to us. We have seen your concerns about our new Big Boy’s Burgers and Shakes format and we want you to know that they have been heard. We want you to know that your opinions matter. We promise you that we are not going to take away your favorites, we are just going to alter the way you order them. We are going to change the look and feel of the store without sacrificing taste or the customer experience. But remember, change is not always a bad thing:
- In 1936, Bob Wian was washing dishes at a Tavern in Los Angeles.
- Wian eventually saved enough money to buy a 10-seat Diner in Glendale, California.
- He became famous when he invented the Double-Decker Hamburger that he called the ‘Big Boy’.
- It wasn’t much later that one of Mr. Wian’s employees began drawing a sketch of a customer on a napkin. A short, chubby boy with overalls and a curl in his hair.
- If you are wondering, yes, that drawing eventually became the inspiration for the Big Boy logo.
We have a loyal customer base that spans generations and they mean more to us than anything else. The fact that we have been a place where married couples met, or a place where people shared high school memories is invaluable to us. We love seeing all of your familiar faces in our Mayfield Heights location and we want to usher in the next generation of Big Boy fans. We want to give them the same memories that you had and we need your help to do it!
The Next Chapter
We understand that change is difficult and it is okay to have questions and concerns. The reason for the Big Boy’s Burgers and Shakes franchise switching to a fast casual model is for the expansion of this company. It was simply too expensive for new franchisees to get into the game and without franchisees, this great company would fizzle out. That isn’t what you want right? Our new stores are cost effective and with our 2017 Incentive Program, we have made Big Boy’s affordable for the average American with a dream. We need all of our loyal customers to help us bring this brand back to prominence, and that starts today!
Tradition is everything to us here at Big Boy and we want to carry over the tradition of great taste and great service into our new stores. Our Mayfield Heights location is up and running and the feedback we have been getting is truly heartwarming. So many old Big Boy fans are relishing in the new experience and they are sharing it with their children and grandchildren.
